Why is Sky Go not working on Xbox One?
As it is with most applications, Sky Go is prone to breaking down from time to time, and you may be using the app when you see an error message, or the screen may simply go blank.
This is not too much to worry about, and before you start phoning up Sky to spend hours on the phone, you should try some of our troubleshooting tips first.
You may encounter multiple issues with the Sky Go application on your Xbox One.
One of the most common issues is the screen going completely blank or black, or you may lose your connection due to the WiFi network.
Other users report that they lose the sound completely from their Xbox when using Sky, and some just cannot select the play button, or the screen just does not load.
Unfortunately, there is no single reason as to why the Sky Go app stops working, as most of these problems are simply down to glitches in the system. However, there are simple ways to fix these issues.
How to fix Sky Go on Xbox One
If you are having a few problems with your Xbox One and your Sky Go application, then the first thing you are going to want to do is checking your WiFi network. To do this, you will need to open up the guide menu on your Xbox.
Then, you will have to search for or select the Settings button. Once you have done this, open up All Settings, and choose Network.
Then, click on the Network Settings button, and select Setup Wireless Network. From there, you can check if your wireless or WiFi network is connected to your Xbox One.
If it is not, or you can see a weak connection, then try forgetting the Network, and deleting it, before reconnecting your WiFi again.
Once you have done this, then you know it is not an internet connection issue, and it could be the Sky Go app that is causing the problem.
Therefore, you will want to close down the Sky Go app completely. Once it is closed, you will want to start it up again and see if the problem is resolved.
However, it could still be glitching and freezing. If this is the case, then we recommend that you uninstall the Sky Go app from your Xbox console, and then reinstall it.
To do this, you should go onto your menu on the Xbox One. Then, select My Games and Apps, and click on the button that says Sky Go and press your start button on your controller to uninstall.
Once uninstalled, you will need to go back on your menu and go to the Microsoft Store and find the Applications section. Here you can search for Sky Go, and redownload the application.
Keep in mind that you will have to sign back into Sky Go when you reinstall the application, though, so make sure that you have your login details handy.
If it is still not solved after doing this, and you are still having trouble with your Xbox One running the Sky Go app, then you can force shut down on your Xbox One, by holding down the power button on the console for 10 seconds.
This should restart and reboot the console.
If the problem persists, after trying all of the above, then it may be time to contact the customer helpline for Sky Go.
They can let you know if it is an issue on their behalf, or if it could be a problem with the Xbox One. If it is the Xbox, then, unfortunately, it may be time for a reset. However, if you reset your Xbox One, you may lose saved games, settings and applications, so do not do this lightly.
