Can You Chromecast Apple TV?

Apple TV Plus marks the Cupertino firm’s entry into the streaming service market where Netflix and Disney Plus dominate. The Apple streaming service has seen slow growth since its launch despite Apple’s investment in expensive programming with massive stars. However, Apple is planning many big shows in future years with the likes of Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio while adding a bunch of new updates.

One of the main questions we get asked is whether you can cast Apple TV to Google Chromecast. It is more complicated than casting any other sources out there, but it’s possible to cast Apple TV plus to Google’s streaming service.

First, Can I Watch Apple TV on Chromecast?

Yes, you can watch Apple TV on Google Chromecast, but this process is not like any other out there. The Apple TV app is specifically designed to cast your favorite shows via AirPlay instead of Chromecast.

Using Chrome, you can use Google’s web browser to cast Apple TV to Chromecast devices. In fact, the Chrome browser comes with a built-in feature that allows you to cast compatible devices to Google Chromecast. Here is how to do this.

Step 1: First, connect your Chromecast to your TV and a Wi-Fi network. After that, head over to the Apple TV Plus site in the Chromecast web browser

Step 2: From here, sign in with your Apple ID and password and obtain a two-factor code from your iPhone or Mac.

Step 3: Select one of the shows you wish to watch from the main menu and click Play Episode. Once it is done, hit the Menu icon at the top right corner of the web browser.

Step 4: Now, hit the Cast button from the pull-down menu and select your Chromecast device from the list.

How to Get Apple TV on Chromecast with Google TV

If you have Chromecast with Google TV, you can download the Apple TV app directly to your device and stream your shows. This eliminates the need to cast as you now can use the native app.

For those who may not know, Chromecast with Google TV comes in the form of an HDMI dongle, allowing you to stream videos and audio on the TV the Chromecast is currently connected to. In fact, Apple TV is one of the main competitors of Chromecast with Google TV, but you can access your Apple TV Plus content directly through the Google device. This is possible thanks to its ability to run apps and stream video independently without the need for a phone or computer.

Step 1: Select the Apps tabs on your Chromecast with Google TV and then select Search for Apps

Step 2: From here, enter Apple TV and hit the Install button

Step 3: Open the app when it is done installing and then simply select the show you wish to watch. Apple TV is now running natively on your Chromecast with Google TV.
